Pedigo Submission Fighting has officially revealed its Daisy Fresh squad for the Craig Jones Invitational, and this isn’t just a team—it’s a declaration of war. Heath Pedigo has assembled five specialists in the gritty, relentless style the Daisy Fresh laundromat is famous for.
Today, we’re breaking down why this hybrid team of Canadian and American fighters is a legitimate threat to win a share of the one million dollar prize.
Pedigo Submission Fighting Lineup for CJI 2
First, at 77 kilos, is the veteran general, Dante Leon. After a tough loss in his weight class, he stormed through the open-weight bracket at the 2024 ADCC World Championships to take bronze, proving he’s a world-class leader. He’s here to set the tone.
Following him at 66 kilos is his direct protégé, Max Hanson. The 2024 IBJJF No-Gi Pan Champion represents the next wave of fighters and is the future of this team.
At 88 kilos, you have the team’s heart and soul, “The Hillbilly Hammer,” Jacob Couch. His incredible performance winning the ADCC East Coast Trials, submitting every opponent, proved he’s among the best in the world.
This is where the team pivots to its monsters. At 99 kilos is the wrestling anomaly, Michael Pixley. A former NCAA and NAIA National Wrestling Champion, he won the 2024 ADCC West Coast Trials with a dominant submission game.
And the heavyweight anchor is the juggernaut, Brandon Reed. A three-time NAIA National Wrestling Champion, Reed is the explosive closer, bringing raw power to finish the job.
Pedigo Submission Fighting CJI 2 Strategy
The tournament uses Quintet rules: win by submission, you stay on the mat; if a match is a draw, both competitors are eliminated. You can’t win on points. It’s a system that demands aggression.
Heath Pedigo built this team for exactly that, combining the submission hunters—Leon, Hanson, and Couch—with the wrestling wrecking crew of Pixley and Reed. Their strategy is simple: wrestle, grind, and break their opponents with a pace others can’t handle.
This team has everything: a veteran leader, a hungry protégé, a fan-favorite hero, and two wrestling powerhouses. They are not coming to CJI 2 to be a feel-good story; they are coming to dominate.
