Jay Rodriguez Banned from B-Team Jiu-Jitsu (The Shocking Scandal!)

Jay Rodriguez Banned from B-Team Jiu-Jitsu!

“We have a zero-tolerance policy,” says Craig Jones.

BJJ standout Jay Rodriguez—better known as “Jay Rod” and younger brother of CJI 1 champ Nick Rodriguez—is officially out of B-Team.

Craig Jones, head coach of the popular squad, made the announcement after serious concerns were raised about Jay’s behavior toward women at the gym.

“Jay Rod is no longer a part of B-Team,” Jones wrote on social media. “B-Team is a safe training place for all, and we have a zero-tolerance policy for anyone breaching that trust.”

Jay Rod Speaks Out: “I’m Working on Myself”

Not long after, Jay posted a video confirming everything. He admitted to what he called “unhealthy interactions with women” and said he’s been in therapy for a p**n addiction.

“This has now led me to seek help through therapy… just working toward being a better person,” he said.

He also talked about reconnecting with his faith and trying to change some of his past habits.

In a follow-up post, Jay apologized to those affected:

“I want to publicly and sincerely apologize… I recognize the harm I’ve caused and take full accountability.”

He also asked people to respect the privacy of those involved and not try to identify them.

Why This Hits Hard?

This is a big deal—not just because of who Jay is, but because of what B-Team stands for.

Even though he’s the brother of one of their biggest stars (Nicky Rod), the team didn’t look the other way. They made a clear call based on values, not reputation.

Let’s not forget: B-Team was created in part to leave behind toxic culture from previous teams. They’re staying consistent.

Final Thought

Look, grappling is about more than just winning titles. It’s about character, accountability, and respecting your teammates.

B-Team made a tough call—but it’s the right one.

And hopefully, this is a turning point for Jay too. Owning up, getting help, and actually doing the work? That takes guts.

Let’s see where he goes from here.
